    Carrying a breast cancer gene, I underwent preventive surgery and began working with clay to make hanging, bell-shaped sculptures cast from my own breasts as they were before the operation. Clay holds the trace of touch, and a bell can ring. Together they break the silence around breast cancer and preventive treatment.

    The installation is now growing through casts of other women’s bodies, and I am looking for participants to help turn it into a large-scale work. Women are invited to join if they have had breast cancer or are in treatment, have undergone preventive surgery, or have close female relatives who have had breast cancer. Each cast becomes a bell, and together they form one evolving installation shaped by many bodies and experiences.
