My Half
2015
This series of collages is made of the images I selected from men’s profiles on the matrimonial websites for, so to called, mail-order brides. It was a discovery for me to see that many men uploaded their cropped portraits with visible traces of another woman they stood next to. With collages I played with irony and contradiction of photographic self-representation and a search of ‘my half’ on these websites, as many people (both women and men) stated in their profiles.
