one month in India

Being on a one month residency in India in 2008 I was working on a few series. One of them, called One month, explores a human identity through time and travel. Portraiture is one of my main areas of investigation, which allows recording the picture of someone and examining it later as a map of new land. Taking photographs of people in the first and the last days of their trip to India, I was using the photography’s ability to freeze time and put two moments together in one line with the question of what lies between them. The idea of this project has been formed in a body of work only after getting the all images together. Flipping some of them as a mirror copy, I have tried to intensify an effect of a popular game: «Find 10 differences» in these pairs.
