Talk not of wasted affection, affection never was wasted (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

The idea of this project came from the real life of my family and my friends’ families. I always wanted to make such kind of project, which helps people to think about the problems in the families. People often pretend to be happy family with close, trust relationships. The most of family albums are filled of ‘happiest’ moments of their lives. But, unfortunately, the reality is different and hidden behind the walls of our homes. Misunderstanding, unwillingness to talk with the members of their families, different views on their lives – these are just a small part of this reality. When I did my research for the project, I have got a lot of stories from people around the world. They have just sent me them even did not know who I am and why I need these stories. But this collection has just confirmed my feeling how serious this problem is. But nobody wants to talk about it. It must be hidden. That is why my project is the staged – there is no need to ‘document’ the real scenes of life, they are too obvious for a lot of people. Moreover, most of people were ready to tell me the family truth, but they prefer to escape to be photographed. I have tried to show the most common or the most interesting for me relationships inside the family.
